S-Town and Ysreal

Brian Reed is the narrator of the Podcast S-Town and is also a senior producer of This American Life. John McLemore is the resident of the small town Woodstock, Alabama. A town which he feels has the tendency to push certain events to the side. One of these events being a murder that nothing was done about. This is why Brian is there, to help bring attention to this murder and finally solve it. Time has a unique role in this podcast. To help the reader have a clear image and knowledge for the podcast, the time goes from past and present.

Ysreal is a young boy that lives near the narrator and is “famous” because when he was a baby, his face was mauled by a baby pig that got into the house. Ysreal now must wear a mask to hide his face, but everyone knows the story. Yunior and Rafa are two brothers in the campo because their mother feels she doesn’t have the time or energy to watch them after school. The relationship between the brothers is like a typical big brother-little brother relationship. Rafa, being the older brother, doesn’t want his little brother following him around because he does things that can get him in trouble. Yunior, however, wants to be around his big brother and be like him.
