Choosing a Genre to Compose in

The purpose of my research is to examine the relationship between academics and sport for student athletes. Genres that I think would work well for me is a Twitter account because many college students use this platform, stickers or t-shirts that students can wear that will spread the message and a photo booth type of genre. For the photo booth I would tie in my other two genres. I’d stop people outside the stadium and tell them about my research and give them a free shirt or sticker if they take a picture in the “photo booth” and allow me to use it on my twitter platform and tag them so their followers see it as well.
My audience will be familiar with my topic because it is addressing a stereotype of college athletes. Because there is such a strong stereotype, they might be inclined to believe that student athletes receive special treatment, etc.
I will connect with my audience by using platforms they use and positioning my “photo booth” outside places athletes go, such as the stadium and gym.
The best mode for me is conversations face to face because I can answer questions and help each person understand. My greatest strength as a composer is personal essays and with Twitter it can be informal and very conversational.
