One of the genres that I will be working with is social media. I have made a Twitter account to tweet out facts about student athletes and their success. Using Twitter I am able to connect with the college community as many people in college use this platform. With Twitter I can create polls to allow my followers to test their knowledge and make things interactive with them. This furthers the message of my paper because it Twitter has become known as the “new morning paper”. It can easily be shared and spread for many people to see in short simply tweets. This audience is different because instead of speaking to faculty or employers, I will be speaking to the student body to help change the stereotype of student athletes. An alternate genre I could create in its place is flyers placed around the stadium and gym.
The BBG list steps you can take to assemble a multigenre project. The steps are to introduce your project and provide context and sequence your genre pieces in an order that makes things flow. Then it says to create a title and author statement and lastly to package your project creatively. I will sequence my projects by providing the twitter account on my flyer so people can access it, using the flyer in my facts video, and clips of my video to the twitter account.
