The prologue of “Fermi’s Paradox” is about how we are alone in this life. The question asked was where are they, they being aliens. If they haven’t found us or we haven’t found them then we must be alone. That what we know is “it”. David explains to Ira how us being alone is crazy, “how small we are and how big it is”. It makes David sad to look up and see no life at all, like the moon. He feels like theres no hope out there only death and it makes him feel lonely. We are also introduced about who else we would hear from.

I think all of these podcast are put under one because its all about loneliness. In different senses however. Being alone in the universe, in a marriage and in yourself. So they all come together to explain how one emotion can be felt in different ways.

One question I would ask my parents is why do good things happen to bad people? I would ask this because throughout life some of the most amazing people I have known have been taken too early. My cousin Price was taken at the age of 19 after being killed by a drunk driver, my grandma taken from lung cancer. These two people touched everyone they met. So why do these bad things happen to such good people. I don’t think my parents could answer this. The only explanation being that life isn’t fair.

I don’t know if I feel scared or if I just feel disbelief when thinking about being in this world alone. I am in astronomy and we learn about how big the universe really is. And how many other planets are like Earth and able to support life, but don’t. To me its disbelief, how are we alone. How is it just us on this tiny planet in a galaxy of planets?

My favorite question was “what is love”? Its something I have always wondered about. I feel like I am in love, but am I really? How do I know this is what love is, is there different types of love when it comes to a significant other? This question stuck out most to me.
